Software can range from saving a simple bitmap to auto image acquisition, filtering, and saving. The software can also be used to make critical measurements on internal features of the part.

When working with a programmable system, the imaging software can be tied into the manipulation software to provide a variety of customization. Tying the imaging software into the manipulator software allows for position feedback can be saved with the images, and other automated features.
